Desolation

Desolation

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
- Hebrews 9:14

I feel away
Crying and breaking forth
As if the others are at far south
I - at the distant north

In my desolation
I gladly rejoice.
It seems the others
Make a religious choice.

Are they directed by law?
Is it just what my mind thinks?
Or is God revealing?
Is it what the Holy Spirit leads?

Is it wrong to say
That easy is Jesus’ yoke
When in the Lamb’s blood
We always choose to soak?

But do we choose?
It’s definitely hard to yield
For we love ourselves
In religious thorn-filled field.

Yet – is it hard? –
When we hate ourselves
Follow Jesus’ sayings
In sacrificial praise.

Cast your burdens on the Lord
The way is truly narrow
But please! Do not fall
Into religion – shallow.

Righteous only in Jesus’ sacrifice
The gate’s strait
Let the Holy Spirit move
For our GOD IS GREAT!

What does it mean
Ourselves to deny?
Religious reasoning makes me
Again in desolation to cry!

Preaching Jesus Christ and Him crucified
Will either harden heart or it’ll break
Bringing to ashes
All self-righteousness – fake

So is it easy to deny self?
His commandments – not grievous
Or is it hard to stop
The ‘do this & that’ cycle vicious?

Not grievous
For Jesus said: “It is finished.”
Are we purged in the Lamb’s blood?
Why is the Holy Fire diminished?

Is the object of our faith right?
Are we living sacrifices?
Nothing but Jesus Christ and Him crucified!
God’s grace suffices.

It’s easy when to the Holy Spirit
Our hearts we do not harden
But let them break and be filled
Grow Living Water garden

Do we realize that we’re placed
In Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection?
I’m crucified with Christ
Breaking forth and crying in desolation.
